Birth and Parentage
Late
Deaconess Arit Effiong Emah alias ‘Eka Mfon Ukim’ was born on the 17th
day of April 1936 into the family of late Chief George Ekpo Idiok of Nung Ndem
Isong (Nung Ekpo Idiok) Family in Ebere Otu Ibesikpo, Ibesikpo/Astuan Local
Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Her mother was late Madam Iquo Udeme
Etokafia of Ikot Udo Akpan family in Aka Offot, Uyo Local Government Area of
Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.
Marital Life

Deaconess Arit Effiong Emah got married to Late Effiong Emah Uko of Nung Antuk
family, Ikot Mbonde Itam, in Itu Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and
the marriage was blessed with five Children.
Education
‘Fine
President’ as fondly called by her grandchildren had her formal education
background at Bishop Westgarth Memorial School, Itam in Itu Local government
Area of Akwa Ibom State. This where she had the idea of reading road-signs and
locations wherever she travelled to across Nigeria.
Occupation
EkaEka
was a sole trader of Okra in former Uyo main market. She bought her goods as a
wholesaler and sold it to retailers travelling back to various locations within
and outside Akwa Ibom State.
Social Life
Eka
Mfon Ukim was a disciplinarian of the highest order. She was always sincere in
all her dealings with humanity. She was a charismatic leader who her children
and admirers, young and old, found solace in her wisdom and material patronage.
She was also known for her benevolent nature.
Christian Life
EkaEka
started her religious life with Qua Iboe Church, Itam-Uyo Superintendency. At
the appointed time, she later changed her faith and embraced the doctrines of
Mount Zion Lighthouse Full Gospel Church where she served as an active
deaconess and women leader till death.
Death
EkaEka
passed on to glory in her sleep on 14th July 2012. This is a
glorious transformation! Since it was a divine call, we have no option than to
thank God for giving us such a lovely woman as a mother and also to bid her a
well-deserved farewell. EkaEka has gone, gone to die no more! May her soul rest
in peace. Amen.
